Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), 10 February 2026 – Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) continued its commitment to advancing digital transformation in higher education through the organisation of the Bengkel Pendidikan 5.0: Digital Transformation of Higher Education (DIGITAsia).
The workshop was conducted under the DIGITAsia Project, an Erasmus+ co-funded initiative that supports the digital transformation of higher education across Asian and European partner institutions. The programme brought together 30 participants and aimed to equip educators with the knowledge, skills, and practical tools needed to design more inclusive, learner-centred, and technology-enhanced learning experiences in line with Education 5.0.
The workshop began with welcoming remarks by the Director of the Centre for Teaching and Curriculum Development, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, followed by a briefing on the DIGITAsia Erasmus+ project. The session introduced participants to the broader goals of DIGITAsia and its role in supporting institutional transformation through digital teaching and learning innovation.

A key component of the programme was the Trainer-of-Trainers (ToT) Pendidik 5.0 DIGITAsia workshop. Through this training, participants were introduced to four main modules: Introduction to Education 5.0, Universal Design for Learning in Digital Education, Leveraging LMS and Learning Analytics for Data-Driven Teaching, and Course Quality Enhancement.
These modules supported teachers and academic staff in rethinking how they plan, deliver, monitor, and improve learning. By integrating Universal Design for Learning, learning analytics, and course quality enhancement, the workshop encouraged educators to create learning environments that are more accessible, flexible, data-informed, and responsive to students’ needs.
The programme also included a Capstone Project, where participants had the opportunity to apply the knowledge and tools introduced during the workshop. This practical component encouraged educators to redesign or enhance their own teaching and learning practices using Education 5.0 principles.

Through this initiative, UKM contributes to the wider DIGITAsia mission of empowering future-ready educators and advancing sustainable digital teaching transformation in higher education. The workshop reflects UKM’s ongoing effort to support academic staff in developing innovative, inclusive, and high-quality learning experiences for students.
The Bengkel Pendidikan 5.0 DIGITAsia marks an important step in strengthening teacher capacity, promoting digital innovation, and preparing higher education institutions to respond to the evolving demands of 21st-century teaching and learning.
