"Every bit of progress, no matter how minor, adds up. It’s through the dedication to the process that results are born."

DIGITAsia Project lifecycle

The DIGITAsia project is structured around six work packages, spanning a 36-month period. Over the course of the project, the team will carry out a series of activities aimed at delivering 26 distinct results, all contributing to the achievement of the project’s objectives.

WP1: Project Management

Start date: 2024/11/01
End date: 2027/10/31
Lead organization: University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI)

Participating organizations:

  • All Partners

WP1: Project Management

The project team within Work Package 1 will be responsible for establishing the foundational management structures necessary for the project’s success. This includes developing the Project Management Plan, the Risk Mitigation Plan, and the Quality Assurance Plan. These efforts aim to enable smooth and coordinated project implementation, monitoring, and reporting; ensure sound and transparent communication within and outside the partnership; and support effective quality and risk monitoring and reporting. Additionally, the team will coordinate and oversee project meetings to ensure alignment, track progress, and maintain effective communication among all partners.

Deliverables:

WP2: Skilling-Up for Education 5.0

Start date: 2024/11/01
End date: 2026/04/30
Lead organization: SLT Campus (SLTC), University of Paradenyia (UoP)

Participating organizations:

  • All Partners

WP2: Skilling-Up for Education 5.0

The project team within Work Package 2 will focus on developing a comprehensive training framework tailored to specific target groups. This will involve recruiting participants for the training programmes, designing and developing targeted Training Modules, and upskilling and reskilling educators’ competences in line with the principles of Education 5.0. In addition, the team will provide training for support staff to ensure inclusive capacity-building across roles. A detailed Training Plan will guide these activities, and a Training Report will document the implementation process and outcomes of the training efforts.

WP3: Setting Up the pilots

Start date: 2025/07/01
End date: 2026/04/30
Lead organization: The Maldives National University (MNU), Islamic University of Maldives (IUM), Villa College (VCM)

Participating organizations:

  • All Partners

WP3: Setting Up the pilots

Work Package 3 is dedicated to the preparation and implementation of pilot activities. The project team will recruit teachers and courses for the pilots and facilitate smooth onboarding through dedicated Onboarding Workshops. To guide this process, the team will develop a comprehensive Piloting Methodology and Plan, along with a detailed Piloting Guide for Teachers. Existing courses will be re-designed in accordance with the established training procedure to ensure alignment with project objectives. Additionally, a Pre-Piloting Course Design and Implementation Catalogue will be compiled to support effective and consistent delivery during the piloting phase.

  • R 3.1. Piloting Methodology and Plan
  • R 3.2. Piloting Guide for Teachers
  • R 3.3. Pre-Piloting Course Design and Implementation Catalogue
  • R 3.4. Onboarding Workshops

WP4: Piloting Education 5.0 Pedagogies

Start date: 2026/01/01
End date: 2027/07/31
Lead organization: The Maldives National University (MNU), Islamic University of Maldives (IUM), Villa College (VCM)

Participating organizations:

  • All Partners

WP4: Piloting Education 5.0 Pedagogies

Work Package 4 focuses on the evaluation and refinement of the pilot phase. The project team will pilot the developed approaches and implementation designs to assess their effectiveness in real learning environments. As a starting point, a Student Profiles Report will be compiled to identify learner characteristics and support the personalization and adaptation of course designs. Following the pilot implementation, comprehensive feedback will be collected to measure the efficiency of the pilots. These insights will inform the development of a Piloting Report and guide modifications to the proposed learning designs. Finally, a Post-Piloting Course Design and Implementation Catalogue will be produced to support ongoing course improvement and scalability.

  • R 4.1. Student Profiles Report
  • R 4.2. Piloting Report
  • R 4.3. Post- Piloting Course Design and Implementation Catalogue

WP5: Transforming Digital Teaching

Start date: 2024/11/01
End date: 2027/08/31
Lead organization: Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC)

Participating organizations:

  • All Partners

WP5: Transforming Digital Teaching

Work Package 5 is focused on supporting the digital transformation of teaching practices at both individual and institutional levels. The project team will develop a comprehensive Framework for Digital Teaching Transformation, outlining key principles, strategies, and approaches to guide this shift. To foster high-quality digital and hybrid learning design, a practical Toolkit and Implementation Guide will also be created. These resources aim to create the conditions for a successful institutional transformation and to support the implementation of a clear strategy for the adoption of hybrid learning across educational settings.

Deliverables:

  • R 5.1. Framework for the Digital Teaching Transformation
  • R 5.2. Toolkit and Implementation Guide

WP6: Dissemination and Impact

Work Package 6 focuses on maximizing the visibility, impact, and long-term sustainability of the DIGITAsia project. The team will ensure effective dissemination of information through the development and implementation of a Dissemination and Communication Plan, as well as the design and maintenance of the Project Web Page and Social Media Plans. A Project Promo Pack, regular Project Newsletters, Research Papers, Press Releases, and dedicated Project Events will further support engagement with stakeholders and the wider public. To guide outreach efforts and assess their effectiveness, a Project Impact Framework will be established. In parallel, a comprehensive Sustainability Plan will be developed to plan, monitor, and secure the long-term relevance and use of project results. These efforts aim to ensure the highest possible impact of the project’s activities. The Work Package will culminate in a Final Conference, showcasing the project's outcomes and promoting knowledge exchange across sectors.
