DIGITAsia project launched

A new international initiative, DIGITAsia (Project No. 1O11788O3), co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, has officially launched. Running from November 1, 2024 to October 31, 2027, this three-year project is backed by a budget of €719,634 and aims to modernize education systems in the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia through digital transformation and the principles of Education 5.0.

Coordinated by the Faculty of Organization and Informatics, Croatia, DIGITAsia brings together nine partner institutions. Alongside FOI and the Open University of Catalonia (Spain), who provide European expertise, seven partner institutions from Asia will play a central role in the project’s implementation: Maldives National University, Islamic University of Maldives, and Villa College (Maldives); SLT Campus and University of Peradeniya (Sri Lanka); and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (Malaysia).

Through collaborative development and the sharing of best practices, DIGITAsia aims to build capacity for digital innovation in higher education, supporting a new era of student-centered, tech-enabled learning environments across the region.
